Murrayfield Avenue

We were appointed by our client for the refurbishment of their Grade C listed West Edinburgh townhouse. The alterations focused on the rear of the property, the kitchen, garden room, dining space and dressing room but also included external stone repairs, new rooflight and roof repairs.

The existing spaces lacked light and, due to poor work carried out in the past, were draughty and cold. Works included careful removal of walls to open up the dining and kitchen spaces allowing light from existing openings to reach further into the floor plan.

Our client spends a lot of time in their kitchen and so the design of this was the focus of the project. The kitchen was designed in conjunction with Laurence McIntosh who also manufactured the joinery and oversaw the complete construction.

An underfloor heating system was laid throughout which, alongside the addition of a small stove and new radiators, greatly improved the thermal comfort of the room.
